Avontuur Race Day a Great Success

Avontuur's Race Day on Saturday, 5 December at Kenilworth Race Course was a great success! The main event was the Avontuur Fillies Guineas (Race 7). This saw a complete outsider, Field Flower, win the R750 000. Punters who backed the outsider were rewarded with a winning dividend of 50:1! The filly, owned by JA Bryant and PG de Beyer, trained by Stephen Page and ridden by Gerrit Schlecter.

Personally I took a win/place bet on Jet Trail who placed, so no big win for me!

It was a fun day for all, with lots of wine, great food, and live music. George and I took the kids with who had fun with the kids programme which included face painting, candy floss, jumping castle and a slippy slide.

According to Avontuur GM, Pippa Mickleburgh, the day was a huge success and the Estate was once again proud to be part of such a glamorous and festive event.
