Participation needed for Somerset West Night Shelter Renovation

The RENOVATION of the SOMERSET WEST NIGHT SHELTER was part of the LIFE Church Vision last year. The night shelter has been in operation for 21 years and accomodates an average of 60 men and women every night. Most months the shelter runs at a loss, as over the years public financial support has decreased and they are in desperate need of the communities support.

Various churches and social action groups assist the shelter, however there is a great need for organized project management with regards to raising awareness, branding, fundraising and RENOVATION. With the support of local churches and organisations the Kitchen and Ladies Bathroom have been totally revamped.

The Shelter has never before had ceilings and now thanks to the generousity of Erin Georgiou who is Editor and Owner of JOY! Christian Magazine who kindly donated the money required to do the ceilings. As a result the night shelter is now cooler and we know that during the winter months the affect of having ceilings will make an incredible differnce. Nomax Paints in Strand kindly donated paint required to repaint the interior of the shelter and this is currently underway.

The next urgent focus is to redo the men's bathroom, which is in desperate need of renovation. It is estimated that this is going to cost around R50 000 to renovate.

We are calling on the comunity of the Helderberg and business owners to donate to this much worthy need.  Any donations of any size will be greatly welcomed and a little we can achieve alot!

Kindly contact Jo Swart (project co-ordinater) on 082 0417 328 or at LIFE Church 021 855 2329 for more info.

A huge thank you to everyone that has contributed thus far to this community project!

I do trust all of the ideas you've presented on your post. They're really convincing and
will certainly work. Nonetheless, the posts are too brief for beginners.

May just you please extend them a bit from next time? Thank you for the post.
