Metro Police Cleaning Up Crime in The Helderberg Basin

City of Cape Town Metro Police officers arrested seven motorists for drunk driving and one suspect for possession of narcotics in Strand, along with another suspect for possession of narcotics this week.

During vehicle patrols in the Strand area, seven motorists were arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol. Another suspect, who appeared nervous when approached by officers, was arrested after a search revealed five packets of TIK in his possession.

Metro Police will continue with the execution of search warrants, including random stop-and-searches as these have proved very effective in apprehending drunk drivers, drug users and dealers. We encourage members of the public to support City Law Enforcement officers in these operations which serve to make their communities safer,” said Metro Police Deputy Chief, Yolanda Faro.
