Hathersage was originally part of Vergelegen, one of South Africa's oldest farms. On the farm visitors can revel in the beauty of indigenous trees, glimpse the rare Cape clawless otter and spot a multitude of bird species.
During the last century, Edward Roworth, a renowned artist who came to South Africa with British forces during the Anglo-Boer War, settled at Hathersage. Roworth named the farm after the village of Hathersage in Derbyshire, England, famed as the setting for Charlotte Bronte's novel, Jane Eyre, and linked with the legendary character, Robin Hood. His legacy is kept alive by murals in Hathersage House painted by his daughter, Ivanonia and by Heinrich von Michaelis. The image of Hathersage UK's St. Michaels Church on the Estate wine label is a tribute to this heritage.
Hathersage is currently owned and managed by the Stephan family.

  1. Scheduling enough time to devote to your drum lessons is
one of the most important steps, yet it can sometimes be
overlooked. Drum lessons are normally scheduled in either
30- or 60-minute sessions at least once per week, and many
drum teachers recommend a minimum number of practice hours
    in between lessons.
