UFO (Fiery Ball) falls Over Somerset West Sky

A "Fiery ball" UFO has the residents of Somerset West Baffled

A Somerset West resident is one of several people who witnessed an object falling from the sky on Friday morning.Caroline Brinkmann said she noticed what appeared to be a meteor while driving with her mother on the N2 near Grabouw.She said the giant fiery ball was moving at high speed."We saw a very long red line just above the Hottentots Holland Mountain. I looked like a giant ball on fire and it was leaving a trail in the sky," she said.The South African Astronomical Observatory said it is investigating after receiving several similar reports from park officials in the area.Astronomer Enrico Oliver said it could possibly have been a meteor or a fire ball."At the moment we’re just looking and trying to gather information from some people who might have seen this to pinpoint what it is," said Oliver.

    I saw the same thing monday 26 july 2010, driving on the N2 towards somerset west, at around 23:00.

  2. Saw a bright, white ball with a red halo fall and then suddenly disappear near strand mountains, Saturday February 23rd 2013 around 19:45pm. No trail though.
