Metro Police net seven suspects in Hanover Park and Somerset West drug raids
City of Cape Town Metro Police officers arrested seven suspects during various drug raids across Cape Town over the last two days.
On Monday 08 August, officers executed search warrants at suspected drug houses in Hanover Park. One suspect was arrested after officers found and confiscated 1kg of Heroin and 37 ‘bankies’ of dagga.
The following day, 09 August 2011, officers returned to Hanover Park to raid additional suspected drug houses. In London Street, one suspect was arrested for possession of illegal narcotics when five Mandrax tablets, 4 half-tablets of Mandrax and nine dagga ‘stoppe’ were found in his possession.
Earlier this morning, officers arrested five suspects in Chris Nissen Park and Garden Village in Somerset West. Officers found and confiscated 72 TIK straws, two dagga ‘stoppe’ and 13 Mandrax tablets.
