The past month I've been wanting to write something to thank Helderberg Municipality for their vigor to improve and enhance our beautiful town.
Today there is no more postponing... A team of municipal workers flooded our neighborhood weed eating ALL park and property edges. To my amazement, their dedication did not end there! A trust followed whit workers cleaning the grass, leaves and dirt left behind in the road edges. How many times have we been in the situation that somebody (for example) offloads a bakkie of wood and think the job is done, but the job is only done after sweeping and cleaning the bakkie. Full marks for Helderberg Municipality for completing a jobs well done.
Here are 9 things I've noticed the past month:
- Planting trees and plant on municipal grounds;
- Cleaning robot poles and painting them. Once again, I noticed not a quick fix or patch job, but a job well done;
- Fixing roads continuously. We are proud when friends from other provinces come visit and jealously comment how good our roads are!
- Cutting the grass of parks;
- Cleaning the town - picking up rubble from people that have not learned the value of dustbins yet or because of our infamous Cape of Storms Wind;
- Replacing old water pipes;
- Painting of road fencing;
- Cleaning swamp areas, waterways and dams from weeds (and);
- Of course the normal and expected garbage and recyclable collections and also reading of water meters.
A big THANK YOU to the Helderberg Municipality for work well done! If I could vote for the best Municipality in South Africa, I would vote for you!
