A Strand Policeman has been busted for using a stolen credit card to buy booze at a liquor store in Somerset West to the tune of R84,000!
According to a police spokesperson he went into a liquor store in Somerset West, where he purchased alcohol amounting to R84,000 with a credit card.The transaction was accepted but, a staff member noticed the credit card was stolen and called the police straight away.
When the SAPS arrived at the store, he attempted to get away in a Nissan Navara. The escape vehicle was found abandoned nearby where the police officers saw the "policeman" attempting to escape in a getaway vehicle. In a hot pursuit officers gave chase and arrested the suspect.
