The Helderberg Basin's favourite golfer...

The Helderberg Basin is home to many celebrities. One of them is Trevor Immelman, the Helderberg Basin's very own home grown golfer!

Trevor began playing golf at age 5, following in the footsteps of his golf teaching brother Mark, who is nine years older. Was a scratch player by age 12 and played the African Junior Golf Association Tour from age 13 to 17. Father, Johan, is the former commissioner of the Sunshine Tour. Golfing

For such a small village the Helderberg Basin has many golf courses.

The most famous one is the prestigious Erinvale Golf Course designed by Gary Player and home to many international golfing events, most famous was the '96 World Cup.

Other golf courses in the village are:

The Somerset West Golf Club located close to the centre of Somerset West, then there is the Strand Golf Club situated close to the Strand Beach Front.

There is also some nine hole courses Fair View is in Gordon's Bay, Green Ways is in the Strand, Helderberg Village Golf Club, situated on the retirement estate.

Then there is a popular driving range Vodacom Village situated near the Somerset Mall.
