The Helderberg Basin is home to the controversial political couple Elna and Alan Boesak.Alan Boesak was an anti apartheid activist and was the former Chairman for ANC in the Western Cape. He is still very much involved with his church as a minister and also is involved with COPE, his wife Elna Boesak is a journalist and serves many charitable organisations.
