Avontuur estate, just outside Somerset west is known for its fine wine and fast horses.
Since the establishment of a restaurant in 2002, run and owned by Melanie Paltoglou and Zunia Boucher-Myers, the term ‘fabulous food’ can now be added to the list of attractions.
Knowing the seasonal nature of the hospitality industry, these two dynamic ladies have come up with a most innovative way of not only attracting new guests to Avontuur in the slow winter months, but, to make the visit memorable in more ways than one.
During the months of May, June, July and August the Avontuur Estate Restaurant will be hosting ‘I am Beautiful’ mornings that are intended to inspire, spoil, educate and empower ladies of all ages and interests.
The first ‘I am Beautiful’ morning, which was themed;’ Inspire’, was held on the 17.5.2011. Guests came as far as Simonstown to listen to guest speakers Patricia Handley, Sanche Nel and Mary-Ann Shearer. Their themes varied from ‘the power of your name, to ‘changing my diet, changing my life’ Sanche Nel enthused the ladies with an interactive demo of hearts and good wishes.
Each guest was spoilt with a goody bag filled with sponsored gifts from, Authentics, Pesto Princess, Hairworks, Mary-Ann Shear’s products, Annique and each lady left with a bottle of wine from the Avontuur Estate!
Each guest also got the chance to win fabulous prizes, with the main prize being to the value of R4000, a laser treatment from Authentics.
The morning ended with a mouth-watering buffet laden with sweet and savoury delights.
A perfect morning was had by all. Not only did the visitors have food for their tummies, they left with ‘inspired’ food for thought.
The next ‘I am Beautiful’ morning is held on the 14.6.2011 and is themed ‘Empower’ Guest speakers, Karl v Lith, Builders Warehouse and The Pink bus will educate, inspire and ultimately empower each and every beautiful lady that attends.
